Types And Cost Of Membership

There are four types of membership:

• Senior Membership: are over the age of 19 and ride / race in MTBA events across Australia
  • $100 + $15 TOTAL $115
• Junior Membership: are under, or are turning 19 that year and ride / race events as above.
  • $70 + $15 TOTAL $85
• Social Membership: This is for non-competitive riders that either ride in social outings or help out with MTBA sanctioned events that want / need insurance cover in case they inadvertently contribute to an incident / accident.
  • $45 + $15 TOTAL $60
• Members of Cycling Australia can value-add to their CA membership by getting a MTBA membership for $50 (conditions apply)

How to Join:

The easiest way to become a member is to register online with MTBA. MTBA (Mountain Bike Australia Inc) is the peak body that controls all MTB racing in Australia. The link to their website is http://www.mtba.asn.au/MEMBERSHIP/

This is by far the fastest and most efficient method of becoming a member. However if you don't like registering on line then its possible to revert to the old snail mail method. 

Here's how to do it.

1. Download the membership form (see link above)
2. Complete the form and post it to:-
   WMBC
   P.O. Box 1511
   Wollongong NSW 2500
   
   with a cheque or money order made 'Wollongong MTB Club'
3. Allow 4- 6 weeks for processing.

WMBC Club Fee:

The $15 WMBC Club membership helps us cover the cost of club race, newsletters and Website hosting.

DAY License:

There are people that like to ride / race on the odd occasion that don't wish to join the club.
MTBA can still cover these people as a "Day licence" rider. This is a charge of $15 and provides the same cover as listed from MTBA above.

• Flexibility in membership types (both social and competitive)
• Works to promote the sport to the general public through its contacts with the media
• Markets the sport to sponsors and television
• Works to keep trails open for all riders
• Insurance Coverage
