No sooner is the 2011 XC Series complete then the next one begins! We have posted tentative dates for the 1st 6 rounds of the 2012 XC Series so that people can begin to lock them in. The 2011 series was dogged by a lot of rain, lets hope the New Year is a bit better. The 2011 Series wrap up and end of year party will be a little late, but we like to give you a lot of notice. It will be on Saturday 10th March, details to be determined in the New Year. Till then - Merry Christmas, happy and safe riding and I hope Santa brings you a new bike.
Round 8 Date ChangeA scan of upcoming events reveals that our next XC round would clash with the Highland Fling. As so many of us get involved in the Fling we thought it prudent to postpone our club round to the following week. XC Round 8 will now be held : Sunday 20th November
Last Updated ( Tuesday, 25 October 2011 19:34 ) XC Round 7 CancelledDue to the significant downpouring of rain the XC round scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled. We want you to save your brake pads and it wouldn't do the trail any good either. Race Director Last Updated ( Saturday, 15 October 2011 09:55 ) |
XC Round 6 Wrap UpRace report Sunday 11th Sept 2011 A clear morning greeted riders for round 6 of the club point score. What made this race different was the course changes that were designed and implemented by Andy Flahive and Scott Carson. The new course still comes in at 10klm but eliminates some of the more technical sections and incorporates the Lost Trails area that was found for last years’ Rock Wallaby. The feed back from riders was extremely positive with the height of the directional signs being a point that will be addressed as a few riders missed turns and had to back track. The conversations were quite funny at times as riders feasted on sausage carbo energisers with chef Mark Ward in full control. The prizes for the plate draw were donated by our supporters at Spearmans Cycles and Avanti Plus. The winners of the day were Jason Morgan in the Male Vets in the best time of the day of 1.38, he was still in form after winning the State title. Ian King, Dave McMurdo and Gwyn Taverner Smith battled the Male Masters and Mick Potter taking out the Opens. Kellie Welnert, in training for a half marathon won the U17 Females and State Champion Callum Carson continuing his good form in the U15. Riley King celebrated his 11th birthday by winning the U13 section in a great time of 40 minutes. Our next race will be on the 16th October, the weekend after the Scott 24. September XC Round date changeDue to a date clash with Fathers Day as well as with an interschools event in Canberra, the September XC club round has been postponed to the 11th September. All those lucky Dads who got a new bike for Fathers Day will have to wait an extra week to race it! Last Updated ( Tuesday, 23 August 2011 20:13 ) |
