Race one for 2011 has been run and won, the turnout was the biggest we have seen in a while with 40 riders hitting the trails. The temperature was just right and the rain had held off in the days prior to the race leaving the track dry but not to dusty, much too the relief of many riders! So, with the track in great condition it made for some fast laps to be put down. Rockstar Racing team member Josh Carlson took the lead right from the word go. He never looked at letting it slip, with some crazy (some may even say out of this world) lap times, that put him 6 minutes in front of team member Troy Glennan. Brad Glennan took out the last of the top three places, finishing up 10 minutes behind second place.

The womens overall was taken out by Dannielle Pollock with a fast time of 1:53:29 for the three laps. The tension was high at the start line for the juniors with eight lining up for the challenge. This race would allow a re-match for those who competed at the Australian Interschools Mt Bike championships at Thredbo on the 18th-20th March. First off the line was Cameron Tavener-Smith hoping to redeem himself after his not so hot performance at the interschools. Cameron ended up winning the U19s category with Rhys Flahive in second place. Jayden Ward was 1st in the U17. Callum Carson who performed very well at the interschools, finished first in the U15s (results need to be edited!) with a very fast two laps. Congratulations goes to our 2 youngest riders Riley King who completed a lap in just over 42 minutes and Liam Gray who at 9 years of age did a creditable 1:11:16.

Overall it was a great race to kick the 2011 season off. A big thanks to all that helped out with the timing, track marking and those that came to the track maintenance day. Hope to see you all there for round two!
