WMBC Downhill

Wollongong Mountain Bike Club is working on some exciting initiatives to assist a local land owner in developing a downhill / freeride track for the use of members. Stay tuned for more information as this development progresses.

As at May 2009 a proposal is being prepared for submission to Shellharbour Council for the use of the land and construction of a downhill track. We are hopeful that through the continued work of Scott Van Barneveld, WMBC Downhill / Freeride Representative, and with the support of the land owner that the application will be approved. Rest assured that the WMBC Committee is working on developing some great legal trails in the Illawarra.

Below is an update from the land owner Nick dated 12th May 2009.

Greenvalleys Freeride Park is primed to be Australia's premier Freeride MTB Park featuring;
 - A Downhill Competition Track  to hold school, local, state and national comps
( Run in conjuction with the Wollongong Mountain Bike Club )
 - A Slopestyle Competition course
 - A variety of freeride tracks to suit all skill levels

Greenvalleys Freeride Park is currently under going approval from Shellharbour Council.

Please hit the link  below to register your details and  show your support for a MTB facility in the Illawarra region.

Cheers
